Personal Equipment List
Due to weight and space limitations on your handcart you will only be allowed 17lbs of personal gear (this does not inlcude your sleeping gear).
EVERYONE SHOULD BRING: (Please label all your items J)
ð 1 6lb bucket with a screw on lid for all personal gear, except sleeping gear.
ð Sleeping Gear:
o 1 warm sleeping bag
o 1 warm blanket
o 1 ground cloth or small tarp to go under your sleeping bag
ð Items to go inside your bucket
o 1 Jacket
o 1 rain poncho
o 1 pair of old tennis shoes
o 1 pair of shoes to trek in (don’t buy new ones—they will give you blisters) Sturdy running shoes or tennis shoes will work if you don’t have hiking boots
o 4 pairs of sturdy socks
o 2 pair of nylon socks (knee-highs…go under your socks to help prevent blisters)
o 3 sets of underclothing
o Fork, spoon, knife & metal pie plate
o 1 tin cup WITH A HANDLE
o 1 small hand towel and comb or brush
o 1 toothbrush & toothpaste
o An OLD set of scriptures and a pen or pencil
o Chap stick
o 2 heavy duty garbage bags
o Sunscreen
o Insect repellant
o Work gloves
o Hand wipes
o Prescription Medications if needed
MEN SHOULD BRING:
ð 2 pairs of pants (no denim or jeans)
ð 2 long sleeved shirts (collared, button shirts)
ð 1 western style hat—no baseball caps
ð 1 pair of suspenders or vest—optional
WOMEN SHOULD BRING:
ð 2 mid-calf, or longer skirts (or dresses) w/ 2 long sleeved shirts
ð 1 bonnet
ð Bloomers or flannel pants, scrubs or sweats to wear underneath skirts
ð 1 apron
ð Feminine hygiene supplies (contained in a Ziploc bag)
